Getting Started

How do I sign up?

Hit the "Get Started Free" button anywhere on the site. You'll create a tenant (your community's admin panel), then add servers to it. No credit card needed for the Scout plan.

Is there a free tier?

Yes — the Scout plan is free and includes one server, RCON, ban management, chat monitoring, player stats, anti-cheat, analytics for the last 30 days, Discord notifications (3 channels), the VIP manager, 3 scheduled tasks, and access to the cross-server reputation graph. Bigger plans add automations, Athena, longer history, and more servers.

Which games are supported?

Live today: Rust, Minecraft, CoD4, Counter-Strike 2, 7 Days to Die, and the full Battlefield series (BF2, BC2, BF3, BF4, BFH). Coming soon: ARK, Squad, and more. See individual game pages for feature coverage.

Features

What is "cross-server reputation"?

Every ban, flag, and @report a player accumulates across communities feeds into a single risk score. When that player joins another Metabans-managed server, the admin sees the history before the player even loads in.

What's the difference between a tenant ban and a network ban?

A tenant ban applies to YOUR community's servers only. A network ban is Metabans-issued and applies platform-wide — when our auto-moderation pipeline confirms cross-community cheating. Communities can opt in to honoring network bans or treat them as a reputation signal.

Can players appeal bans?

Yes — there's a public appeal form at /banlist/appeal. Appeals are reviewed by Metabans staff (and the tenant admin where applicable). Aggregate appeal stats are published on the banlist page so you can see the system is fair.

How does @report work?

Players type @report in chat. The command is parsed by Metabans and routes to the admin Discord channel + logs to the player's GlobalFlag history. It contributes to reputation, so a chronically-reported player looks very different to a sixth community.

Billing & Plans

How is the per-server pricing calculated?

Plans bundle a server count + feature tier. The included server count is a hard limit, not a soft one: once you've used it, adding another server is refused with "Your plan allows a maximum of N server(s). Please upgrade to add more." There is no overage billing and no automatic upgrade — you choose when to move up a plan, and the new servers become available as soon as you do.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from your tenant's billing page. Your servers stay connected through the end of the current billing period.

Do you offer refunds?

Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law — see section 4 of the Terms of Service. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep full access through the end of the period you have already paid for, so there is no unused-time charge to reclaim. If something went wrong on our end, email [email protected] and we will look at it.

Technical

Where is Metabans hosted?

On infrastructure we own and operate, not resold hosting. The application runs on our own Kubernetes cluster with replicated block storage, and the database runs on dedicated hardware kept separate from it.

Does Metabans collect player IPs?

IPs are received from the game server and stored encrypted (Laravel encrypted cast). They're used only for IP-linked alt detection + VPN/proxy flagging. They are NOT shown on public pages.

Is there an API?

Yes — public API docs at /docs/api. The public stats endpoint is open; tenant-scoped API keys give your community programmatic access to bans / players / reputation.
